Aromatics, olefins, and other basic chemicals are core petrochemical products with wide-ranging applications across various sectors of industries. Aromatics like benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX) support the pharmaceutical, automotive, and textile industries. Olefins (ethylene and propylene) serve as essential raw materials for producing plastics, synthetic rubber, and textile fibers. Pertachem also offers other basic chemicals, including Heavy Aromatic, Decant Oil, PTA, and Methanol, which support manufacturing processes and supply chain efficiency for industrial needs.

Paraxylene

Paraxylene (PX) is an essential aromatic compound primarily used as a raw material in the production of purified terephthalic acid (PTA), polyester and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Refinery Unit Pertamina IV Cilacap can produce 270 KTA/year Paraxylene from Aromatic Unit (KPC, Kilang Paraxylene Cilacap).

Benzene

Benzene is a clear colorless liquid, with a characteristics aromatic smell. Benzene is produced by PERTAMINA’s Paraxylene Refinery Cilacap with production capacity 110 KTA/year.

Ortho-xylene

Ortho-Xylene (OX) is an aromatic compound primarily used as a raw material for producing phthalic anhydride (PA), a key component in the manufacturing of plastics, resins, and coatings.

Toluene

Toluene is a versatile aromatic compound used as a solvent and raw material in the petrochemical industry. It plays a key role in producing dyes and pharmaceuticals.

Propylene

Propylene is used as a feedstock in the manufacture of polypropylene, acrylic acid, oxo alcohol and propylene oxide. Propylene produced in the residue catalytic cracker (RCC) Refinery Unit Pertamina VI Balongan with a production capacity 230 KTA/year.

Light Naphtha

Light Naphtha is a light petroleum fraction primarily used as a feedstock in reforming processes to produce aromatics like benzene, toluene, and xylene, as well as in cracking processes to generate ethylene and propylene.

Mono-ethylene Glycol (MEG)

Mono-ethylene Glycol (MEG) is a chemical compound primarily used as a raw material in the production of polyester and anti-freeze.
